ANOTHER VETERAN DEAD.

Kyle, Texas, Oct. 30. - W. P. Smith, aged 76, for more than 30 years a 
citizen of Hays county, died of cancer at his home, 12 miles northwest of 
Kyle, Friday and was buried in the Butler cemetery, near his home. He leaves 
a widow and 15 children.

Mr. Smith was a member of the Fourth Texas infantry, which served in 
Longstreet's division. He was captured at Gettysburg, imprisoned at Fort 
Delaware, where he remained until the close of the war.

Additional Comments:
NOTE: William Pitt Smith is buried in the Butler Family Cemetery located in 
Driftwood, Hays County, Texas.
