He grew to manhood in Kansas and was united to Maggie Elizabeth Lacquement, August 9, 1882 at Newton, Kansas. To this union was born four daughters and one son. They moved to Roger Mills County, Oklahoma in January, 1901, settled on a farm in the Roll community, where they lived until about nine years ago when they moved to Cheyenne. He was preceded in death by his wife and one daughter Blanch and son Henry. He is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Maude Byers, of Skellytown, Texas, Mrs. Ella Glen of Long Beach, California, Mrs. Mable Briggs of Canadian, Texas; 18 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren. He passed away June 22, 1953 at Canadian, Texas at the age of 93 years, four months and 25 days, he became a christian and joined the Magnolia Baptist Church at Crawford, Oklahoma in 1932.
