His mother was a Miss Ferrell. There were five of the children and four of them are living. His mother died in 1855, his father in 1864. Mr. Underhill was born August 9, 1855, in Tenn., was educated there and in the common schools of Texas. He is a farmer and has always been engaged in the old line of farming and ginning. He began farming 20 years ago. Has owned and operated a gin for four years, and began fruit raising two years ago. He now has 20 acres in Alberta peaches, operates his gin and raises other crops. He married Mrs. Mary Folmar, Feb. 22, 1892. He has only lived in Henderson County for 6 years, but came from Anderson Co. here. He is much interested in the new life taken on by this section and stands for progress and the best development of the country in its material resources and in all that makes life worth living. He is honored and trusted by his neighbors and is one of the representative men of his community. He readily takes hold of what would be for the best interest of the country.
