D. Owens, County Judge in Henderson County, states that "Judge Paul Jones, who is younger than Jno. S., tells us that Jno. S. Jones left home for the war and returned wounded with a ?Minne ball in his leg." It is common tradition here where Jno. S. Jones spent the most of his life that he carried a memento of the war in his leg.
