The old Farmer is the luckiest of all because he is plum done gathering. Made 9 bales cotton and plenty of corn. Did not sell any for less than 11 3-4, from that up to 13 3-4. Now the task of repair comes on. Some new ground to clear, wire fence to build, old buildings to recover, in fact no stop for the farmer. Lumber and shingles to haul from town. Do not mind that if I did not have to go so far out of my way to keep from ruining the wagon. On Mr. Roberts' law wish it was drug out of the road. There is a pretty good blackjack and red oak and pin oak mast and people are beginning to turn out hogs which will do well on the range
