July 7, 1938 Homecoming At New York Set For July 15th The Third Annual Homecoming program at New York, historic settlement in Eastern Henderson county, will be held on Friday, July 15th it has been announced here. Rev. Marvin Johnson of Athens pastor of the New York church, is in charge of plans for the occasion. "We invite all to be present to meet old acquaintances and friends, to make new ones and to see the beautiful old New York cemetery," he said. The following program has been arranged for the day: 10:00-10:45 Song service conducted by C. O. Jackson 10:30-10:45 Scripture reading and comments by Bro. John R. Lockhart, pastor of the Methodist Church at LaRue. Prayer by Bro. Marvin Johnson, pastor New York Baptist Church. Special song, Co. O. Jackson and family. 10:45-11:00 Talk and introduction of speaker, Geo. Tipton, Supt. LaPoynor School. 11:00-12:00 Address by Bro. Peeples, president Lon Morris College, Jacksonville. 12:00-1:30 Noon 1:30-2:30 "The People's Hour" B. C. Hall of Athens in charge. 2:30-3:00 Song service conducted by C. O. Jackson. Everybody come and bring an old time basket dinner and enjoy the day. S. C. Tindel, Mrs. E. C. Phillips and J. C. Dingler compose the committee in charge of the day.
