Dec. 4, 1996 James Carlton Farmer Services for James Carlton Farmer, 65, of Athens, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Tomlinson Funeral Home in Malakoff with Casey Perry officiating. Burials will be at Union Cemetery. Mr. Farmer died Dec. 3 in Athens. He was born Feb. 14, 1931 in Limestone County. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Farmer, adn brother, Kenneth Farmer. He served in the Korean Conflict while in the U. S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Romona Farmer of Athens; son James Wayne Farmer, of Jenarette, LA.; daughters, Jean Dugas of Crowley, LA., Jane Rocca of Brussard, LA., and Lea Coletti, of Brussard, LA.; stepson, James Pryor of Henderson; stepdaughter, Robin Lyles, of Whitehouse and Jennifer Hutchison, of Athens; father and stepmother, N. D. and Louise Farmer of Malakoff; brothers Bobby Ray Farmer, of Bedford, and Dewey Wayne Farmer, of Canton, and Nelda Smith, of Lake Palestine; and 12 grandchildren. Pallbearers are Leroy Pate, Lemon Rogers, Bob Farmer, James Allen Farmer, Vernon Farmer and Morris Farmer.
