Persons or organizations desiring to use this material for non-commercial purposes, MUST obtain the written consent of the contributor, OR the legal representative of the submitter, and contact the listed USGenWeb archivist with proof of this consent. ====================================================================== DEED RECORD - HILL CO., TX - JULY 24, 1886 VOLUME 15, P 300 DEED BOOK State of Texas County of Hill Know all men by these presents that We, William Elkins and Katie Elgins (sic) his wife of Hill Co., Texas in consideration of $50.00 to us in hand paid and the futher consideration of the cancellation by Wm Smith of five certain promissory notes executed by the said Wm Elkins to said Smith, each note for $100 due respectively Jany 1st 1884, 1885, 1886, 1887, and 1888 each recited in a deed from Said Smith to said Wm Elkins record in Volume 8 on pg. 455 of Deed Records of Hill Co., Texas to which reference is here made, and the futher consideration of one hundred($100) Dollars secured by one promissory note drawn by William Smith to the order of William Elkins of even date herewith and due November 1, 1886, with interest from date at the rate of 10 percent per annum, for the payment of which a lein is hereby retained upon the herein after described tract of land, have granted, sold, and conveyed, and by these presents do grant, sell, and convey unto William Smith of Hill county, and the State of Texas, the following described tract or parcel of land, to-wit; Eight-one (81) acres, part of William Burnback 1/3 league Survey patented to the heirs of William Burnback by patent no 912, Volume 2 in Hill County Texas 9 mi S 19 W from Hillsboro said 81 acres know as the "Kitcherside" place and futher described as follows: Beginning ath the N W Cor. of W 256 Nere (sic) tract of land sold to W W Treadwell out of said Wm Burnback Sur. on the N. boundry line of Survey, Thence S 30 E 640 vs to Cobb Creek Cor. on third tree marked X: Thence up said crk with its meander as follows. . . To have and to hold the above describe premises, together with all and singular the rights and appurtenands thereto in anywise belonging, unto the said William Smith, his heirs or assigns forever. And we do hereby bind ourselves, our heirs, executor and administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said William Smith, his heirs and assigns, against every person whomever, lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof. Young Deputy LEBLEU, JOSEPHINE DEED BOOK - HILL CO., TX BOOK M p. 713 August 21, 1871 State of Texas County of Hill Know all men by these presents that I Josephine Lablue of State and county aforesaid do for in consideration of two hundred and fifty dollar to me in hand paid by W S Nolon? the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have this day bargained,sold, transferred, alienated and by these presents do bargain sell, transfer, and alienate all my right title and interest in and unto a certain lot or tract of land containing fifty acres of land ---?--- or --- ?--- it being the west part of a sixty one acre lot deeded to me by W B Turner as agent for T S Lawrance and others and being a part of Wm Burnback 1/3 league and situated on Cobb Creek in said county of Hill State of Texas and described as follows to wit: Beginning on the North bank of Cobb Creek, a Huckleberry for corner. . ...containing fifty-one acres. . .
