Know all men by these presents that we J R Pruett, Cynthia Pruett and A.J. 
Copeland by R S Barber agent all of Leon County State of Texas and the lawful 
heirs of Lawrance Copeland deceased of the first part and E B Wood of Hill 
County State above named of the second part for and in consideration of four 
hundred dollars gold cash in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby 
acknowledged have this day bargained sold and conveyed and do by these 
presents bargain sell and convey unto the said E B Wood the followind 
described tract of land a part of the Lawrance Copeland League lying in Hill 
and Limestone Counties State of Texas on the waters of the Navasota River and 
described as follows to wit Beginning at S H Barbers South West corner on J 
Harris East line a stake thence S 30 E 1502 vrs with said East line and pass 
South East corner of said J Harris a stake thence N 60 E 751 vrs a stake 
thence N 30 W 1502 vrs to said S H Barbers SE corner thence S 60 W with 
Barbers S line 751 vrs to the beginning Two hundred acres more or less To have 
and to hold the same unto the said E B Wood his heirs and assigns forever and 
we the aforesaid J R Pruett Cynthia Pruett and A.J. Copeland bind ourselves 
our heirs and legal representatives to warrant and defend the title to the 
above described tract of land unto him the said E B Wood his heirs and assigns 
against the claims of any and all persons lawfully claiming the same or any 
part thereof.  In testimony we hereunto set our hands and seals Scrolls for

Before me C H Brooks Clerk of the District Court in and for said County and 
State duly qualified and Commissioned in terms of the law personally appeared 
Thomas H Compere to me well known who being duly sworn on oath deposeth and 
says that he witnessed the execution of the foregoing attached Deed dated the 
10th day of Oct AD1872 by R S Barber agent for J R Pruett, Cynthia Pruett, 
A.J. Copeland whose genuine signature appears thereto and who declared by 
signing the same that he had executed and delivered the same for all the 
purposes and considerations therein stated and in the capacity aforesaid and 
afiant further says that he signed said Deed as one fo the subscribing 
witnesses together with J P Barrett at the request and in the presence of the 
grantor.  In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and the seal of 
said Court at office in the Town of Hillsboro in said COunty this the 25th day
