Johnson, an old and esteemed citizen of Hopkins County, a worthy planter and an all around fellow, enjoying the full confidence of his acquaintances, is living with his second wife. She was, at the time of their marriage to Mr. Johnson, the widow Hopper. He is the father of nine children, his wife is also the mother of nine children, and yet they have only thirteen in number. This appears to be a puzzle to the reader, but when figured aright the circumstance is real simple. The author leaves the reader free to solve the problem.
