All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** St Clair Family - Mr. T. A. St. Clair had the remains of his parents, J. S. and Anice St.Clair, his brothers, James and Luther, St.Clair, and his sister, Mrs. Eliza Harris, taken up from the Gage graveyard, 12 miles northwest of Mt. Vernon, in Hopkins county, and moved to the Mt. Vernon City cemetery. Graves marked by one massive granite stone for parents and smaller for other family members. His father died before the civil war; mother some years later. Mrs. Harris died 1857, James St. Clair took sick at the Battle of Elkhorn in 1862 and died seven months later. Luther died in 1867, cut by knife in his saddle bag as he was getting off his horse. James St.Clair and Mrs. M. Hedrick of Sulphur Bluff are his children. (The Cage cemetery, is located on Mitchell Creek, in Hopkins county, south of Sulphur Bluff. It is now known as the Mitchell Creek cemetery.)
