C. NABORS of this city, was found dead in a creek, five miles northwest of Lindale, Smith County, Texas, Wednesday, and meager reports received here indicated that he was murdered. Mr. Nabors had been working for the pipe line company at Lindale. He finished his work up, sold one span of his mules and started home in a two-horse wagon. His dead body was found, as stated above, in a creek. The team was on the bridge of the creek, near where the body was found. Mr. Nabors had a severe wound on his head which might have been caused from a blow. He had sent $115.00 to the City National Bank; the money arriving here the morning of his death. The remains were expected here last night on the Katy, and if there is no delay of the corpse in transit, the funeral will occur at the city cemetery sometimes this afternoon. Mr. Nabors was 67 years of age and had lived in Hopkins county for the past twenty-five years. He lived for a time on the Hargrove farm just north of town, then near Martin Springs for twelve years, moving to this city and buying the Sour Well Hotel about the 1st of last February. He leaves a wife and seven children. (S. S. Gazette, Oct. 15, 1915)
