Weaver, former citizen of Hopkins County, has donated to the Texas State Park Board a park site near Lamesa, which will be known as the Frank M. Weaver State Park. It is said to be a valuable piece of land and shows the patriotic spirit of the donor. Mr. Weaver is a brother of Mr. Phil H. Foscue of this city and has many old time friends here who remember him very kindly. Lamesa , Aug. 17th - Frank M. Weaver of Fort Worth, rancher and cattle man, today donated to the Texas State Park Board a park site lying at the edge of Lamesa and just within the corporate limits of the city, for a State park site. Judge J. E. Garland donated a 90 foot strip for a boulevard leading from Lamesa through his property to the Weaver tract, which will be known as Frank M. Weaver State Park. (Aug. 28, 1924)
