All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** From the files of June Tuck ALTOM, ED - Age 52, pioneer citizen passed away Tuesday morning from about nine days illness from pneumonia at his home two miles east of Sulphur Springs. He was a native of Hopkins county. He married Miss Net Thomas early in life, who died a few years later, leaving four small children. Later he married Miss Maye Currin, and to this union were born eight children, one of them dying in infancy. He is survived by his wife, four sons, Leo, Billie, Henry and Earl; seven daughters, Maudie Lee, Edna, Ruby, Betty Maye, Virginia, Eddie Faye, and Mary Etta. He is also survived by five sisters, Mrs. Charlie Roberts of California, Mrs. Leon Neighbors of Dallas, Mrs. Dave Reeves and Mrs. Sallie Sharp of Dike, and Mrs. Allie Argenbright of Colorado; one brother, Dud Altom, and his mother, Mrs. Lizzie Altom.
