Was married September 20, 1866, to Miss Bettie McKnight, who survives to mourn his loss. Several children were born from this marriage, five of whom, two sons and three daughters, are yet alive. Bro. Bell passed more than thirty years of his life in Sulphur Springs, including the time spent as a soldier in the Confederate States service. He died in Sulphur Springs, Texas, Jly. 14, 1897. Though a native of New England, when his adopted State called her Sons into the field as Soldiers in defense of her rights and those of her sister states of the South, this brother became a volunteer soldier
