BIRTHRIGHT, C. E., MAJOR - A pioneer citizen of Hopkins County, died at his home
west of town Thursday night of last week. His remains were interned in the City
cemetery. Several children survive him, Mrs. Jim Mellown, Ft. Worth; Mrs. L.W.
Caldwell, Commerce; R. H. and D. B. Birthright, Birthright; children by his
first wife who died several years ago. Five children by his present wife are now
living. He was a brave Confederate soldier. (S.S. Gazette, Apr. 27, 1906)
