All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** From the files of June Tuck BURNS, LOU VENIA, MRS. - Died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Brown, near Mt. Zion church, October 19, 1933. She was the daughter of Rev. R. C. and Safronia Greaves pioneer settlers of Hopkins County. Her father moved to the farm now lived on by his son, Ed Greaves, in 1842, where Mrs. Burns was born in July, 1852. Her entire life has been spent in this county, with exception of about six years when her parents resided in Erath county, which was the years immediately preceding the Civil War and the first two or three years of the war. Her father was born in Mississippi in 1817, and died in 1882, while her mother was born in 1824, dying in December 1914, and both are buried in the Mt Zion cemetery. Out of the family of ten children, Mrs. Burns leaves behind two sisters and two brothers, R. C. Greaves of Campbell, and E. P. Greaves of Mt. Zion. She had resided in this county for 75 years of her life. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Gains, her pastor, at Mt. Zion. Her tired body was laid to rest beside her daughter in the Mt. Zion cemetery.
