All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** DICKSON, PRUDENCE ANDERSON - Cumby, Texas, Feb. 24, 1922 - A typical Southern figure of the antebellum days passed away recently in the death of "Aunt" Prudence Anderson Dickson, a descendant of former President James K. Polk. Mrs. Dickson was the widow of a southern pioneer - Dr. B. R. Dickson, a physician of the old school, graduate of Tulane University and later a post- graduate of the old Memphis Medical College. He died in 1884. Mrs. Dickson was 80 years old when she died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. W. Holland, in Denton. She had visited in Dallas last summer. Burial took place in Cumby.
