Mrs. Jerry Hawkins, age about 75, died at Fort Worth, Tuesday. Funeral
services and burial were at Mt. Zion, north of Cumby. She was a native of
Alabama, but since young girlhood had made her home in the western part of
Hopkins County until about 12 years ago when she went to Fort Worth to live
with her daughter, Miss Annie Hawkins, who is a member of faculty of
Polytecnic (sic) College. She is also survived by one son, Fred Hawkins,
Anderson, County. She was an aunt of Olive, Henry, Virgil, Luther, Homer, and
Guy Pharr; also an aunt of Waire Currin. (Hopkins Co. Echo, Fri., May 3, 1935)
