Hopkins Co. TX - Obit for Webb K. Jennings Submitted by: June E. Tuck <1224be@neto.com> Copyright. All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ------------------------------------------------ Webb K. Jennings was born in Alabama, October 21, 1828, and died December 7, 1899. He had been a member of the M. E. Church at Forest Academy for a number of years. He volunteered in Louisiana in 1862, and a truer and braver soldier never fought out battles. In the Spring, about the close of the war, he lost his arm. He then came home and had to make a living with one arm for his wife and little children. This year, since our state saw fit to pension her disabled soldiers, he made application with all the necessary proofs and was denied the small pittance because he owned a few acres of poor sandy land. He leaves a devoted wife and eight children. Wrote by his cousin, Mary A. Posey. (A Loose obit in files)
