MATHIS, DOLPH, MRS. - Died Saturday afternoon from injuries from a burn which
proved fatal Sunday morning. She was assisting her husband in extinguishing a
grass fire on their place, five miles south out Gilmer (Street,) when her
dress caught fire, and was badly burned. The deceased was a daughter of
Sheriff L. A. Latch of Upshur county. (S.S. Gazette, Fri., Mar. 5, 1909)
