McCary, former well-known citizen and business man of Sulphur Springs, died Wednesday morning at his home in Talladega, Alabama, following a stroke of paralysis. He was 75 years old and is survived by his wife and two sons, Marshall McCary, banker of New York, and Earl McCary, business man of Talladega. His wife was Miss Ellen Vaughan, sister of J. T. Vaughan of Sulphur Springs. Mr. McCary and his brother, Dan McCary, were in business here forty years or longer ago. Their first store stood where the present courthouses now stands. They later moved across the public square to the old Ward Gober store. They left here in 1888 or 1890, moving to Alabama where they continued to live. (Hopkins County Echo, Feb. 23, 1934)W.R.
