All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** From the files of June Tuck McKINNEY, MALDA, MRS. - Cumby, Hopkins Co., Texas - Aug. 27, 1927 - Mrs. Malda McKinney died this week at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. W. L. Harbison, in Lubbock. She was born in what was Titus County, now Franklin County, Feb. 16, 1855. Moving to this section of Texas with her parents in 1870, she has resided continuously around and in this place until a few years ago, when she went to Dallas to reside with her daughter. With her daughter’s family she moved to Lubbock some three months ago. She is survived by her daughter with whom she made her home, and a son, Joe Oliver of Lamesa, Texas, two brothers, Will Rash of Dallas and Luke Rash of Terrell, both whom attended her funeral. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev M. L. Talley, with burial in Cumby cemetery. As a mark of respect, business houses of all kinds closed their doors during her funeral.
