Tuck James Monroe McLeroy died Aug. 7, 1911, and was laid to rest at Greenview. He was 93 years old and was born in Georgia, Feb. 11, 1819, and lived there until the year 1869, when he came to Texas. He lived in Franklin County for 9 years, and then moved to Bonanza, living on the first place he settled for 30 years. At the age of 20, he was married to Nancy Thompson of Walton County, Ga., and they lived together until death parted them 14 years ago last February, after which he got so feeble he went to live with one of his daughters, Mrs. Adline Stubbs, and lived with her nine years. They were blessed with 13 children, 8 of whom are living and present during the last moments of the old man. He had 78 grandchildren, 205 great grandchildren, and 15 g.g. grandchildren. He suffered with that terrible typhoid fever for 21 days. ( S. S. Gazette)
