MEADOWS, SAM - Of the Greenview community died at the home of Will Worsham in
this city. He had taken sick while coming into town with a load of cotton and
was carried to Mr. Worsham's house where all medical aid could not save him.
Mr. Meadows lived in the Gafford Chapel community for a number of years, and
on his death bed he requested his wife to move back to that community and
locate near his brother, Albert Meadows. The funeral and burial took place at
Gafford's Chapel. He leaves a wife and six children. (Sulphur Springs Gazette,
Nov. 13, 1908) J. J. Meadows and Mrs. J. A. Moore of Naples were here last
Friday to attend the funeral of their brother, Sam Meadows.
