All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** From the files of June Tuck NEELEY, MATTHEW H., REV. - (Howard Hargrave's tribute he made at the Old Settlers Re-union at Oak Park in July, 1914) Mr. Neeley was born near Boonville, Warrick county, Indiana, in the year 1834. He came with his parents to Hopkins County in the year 1848 and entered the McKinney institute in 1852 preparing for the ministry. He was only eighteen years old. He attended this institute two years and in 1850, at the age of twenty years, he was licensed by the M.E. Church South and entered immediately in the work as a minister. He died at San Antonio, Texas in 1913, at the age of 79 years. (Sulphur Springs Gazette)
