NICHOLS, HELEN M., MRS - After an illness of three weeks, departed this life.
Bro. Tawry of Saltillo conducted the services. (S.S. Gazette, Fri., Ap. 9,
1909, Flora column dated Ap. 4th) Later report - The wife of W. H. Nichols, of
the Flora community, passed away April 3, 1909. She was the daughter of Mr. &
Mrs. A. A. Flippin. She was born February 12, 1881, near Saltillo. At the age
sixteen she joined the Baptist church with her husband whom she married
January 2, 1900. She also leaves two children: Pauline, age 6, and Read, age
3. She was buried at the Armstrong cemetery. (Cemetery known today as the
Bennett cemetery)
