The fatal shooting is said to have followed a quarrel between Orren and his wife in which their 6 year old daughter was sent to call a neighbor. When the neighbor arrived, he was threatened, it was said. It was then, officers were told that Mrs. Orren went into the house and got a gun. Orren was shot once. The cause of the quarrel was not learned. Orren who was a school teacher, had been operating a small farm since his school had closed a short time ago. He is said to have been previously married to Mrs. Orren, divorced and married to another woman. The Orrens remarried about two months ago. Mrs. Orren was free on bond and expressed a desire to remain in Sulphur Springs to attend her husband's funeral rather than go to her father's home in Mt. Vernon. (Cumby Rustler, Fri., May 4, 1928)
