OWENS, DRED - Reily Springs, Texas, June 28th - While hauling oats with a pair
of young mules, struck a stump, throwing some oats on the mules. They became
frightened, made a few surges, struck a tree, throwing Mr. Owens against the
tree, his left cheek striking the tree, throwing him back under the wagon. He
lived about half an hour. (Delta County Banner, July 4, 1890)
