He was born on March 10, 1846, the son of Austin and Nancy Reed Patrick in Alabama. He served time in the Civil War replacing a wounded brother. He moved his family to Texas in a covered wagon in the early days. Survivors are his wife, Isabol, a daughter, Dora Horne, four sons, Jesse, Marucus, twin sons, James and Hardy Patrick. Burial in the Greenwood Cemetery.
