A. Pearce was made sad indeed by the death of the wife and mother. Mattie Hargrave was born November 1, 1861. Married September 10, 1884, to Sparks Pearce. Six children came to bless their home. She had been in feeble health for some time, but was confined to her bed only a few hours before her death. She leaves a husband and six children. (Sulphur Springs Gazette)
