Mrs. Ollie Penny, nee McClain, wife of A. J. Penny, past away after hovering
between life and death for two weeks or more. The remains were interred in the
Arbala cemetery. Miss Cecil, a young lady of about seventeen, the oldest
daughter, will have the care of the household. (Sulphur Springs Gazette, Fri.,
Mar. 20, 1908, Elberta Lake column) Reported later -

Mrs. Penny was born in Tennessee, July 6, 1874; was married to A. J. Penny,
Nov. 15, 1901, and died March 15, 1908. They came to Texas ten years ago and
settled in the Arbala community. She leaves a husband and four children,
father and mother, three brothers and five sisters. She was a member of the M.
E. Church. Bro. Saffold conducted the burial services.
