Mr. James M. Phillips died suddenly at the home of Mr. A. E. Fant. Mr.
Phillips was an old soldier friend of Mr. Fant and had just come on a
short visit. He was an old man and no doubt died of heart decease. His
daughter, Mrs. May Surratt, lived near Celeste, and his son near Dallas.
They will be notified and unless heard from at once he will be buried
today. (Black Jack Grove paper dated Aug. 1893) (Black Jack Grove now
