W. Plunk, of Hopkins County, Texas. Since the death of her husband, five of six years ago, she has made her home at the house of her youngest son, C. C. Plunk. Having visited the house of the former, she was suddenly attacked while on her feet by paralysis, and falling to the ground, she was taken up by a friend and laid on her couch, where she remained but a few days, when God released her from all her sufferings. During her illness, she expressed a willingness to depart. Mother Plunk was born in Franklin County, Tennessee, in the year 1810, was espoused to Peter Plunk in 1827, in McNary County, West Tennessee; emigrated to Titus County, Texas, in 1840, where she remained until she removed to Hopkins County about eleven years ago. In early life she became a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church and remained a devoted member until about three years ago, when she attended the preaching of the ancient gospel, and on hearing, she believed. She asked to be baptized; we congregated at the water side, where she made the good confession before many witnesses and was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Mother Plunk died at the advanced age of 68 years. A companion and six children preceded her in death, yet there are four left in this unfriendly world. Wrote by W.D.
