RANDALL was born in Cleveland County, North Carolina, Jan. 2, 1839, where he lived until the out break of the civil war when he enlisted in the service, serving until the close of the struggle. After being released from Baltimore prison he went to Ohio where he met and married Miss Rebecca Osborn. To this union seven sons were born, six of whom survive. He came to Texas with his family in 1877 and located in Hunt County where he remained until 1896 moving to Miller Grove (Hopkins County) and residing until death relieved him of the terrible bodily suffering incident to cancer, from which he suffered about thirteen months. He passed away at the home of his son, June 18, 1916. He united with the Methodist Church in 1868. The remains were laid to rest in Miller Grove cemetery by the side of his wife who proceeded him in 1898. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Curr, pastor of the Cumby Methodist Church. His sons are S. E. of Glenwood, Arkansas; S. P. of Klondike, Texas; W.O. of Miller Grove, with whom he resided; A. E. of Lone Oak; R. S. of Abneer (sic), Ark., and J. W. of New Mexico.
