She was born in North Carolina, but her parents moved to Virginia when she was quite small and from there they came to Texas and settled in Hunt county at what is now known as Dixon, and in 1871, she married J. T. Redding. Two children resulted from this union, one dying in infancy, the other living until four years ago. They moved to our community and was a member of the Baptist church. The remains were carried back to Dixon and laid to rest beside her son. (Sulphur Springs Gazette)
