Many of us have known him from his earliest arrival in our city nearly forty years ago, when, as a young society man, he wooed and won a noble Christian girl, Miss Susie Bryson, for his wife. At his earnest request, his old pastor, Dr. A. A. Duncan, of Marshall, held the funeral services which were held at the city cemetery. He leaves a wife, four daughters and one son. They are, Mrs. Susie Shaw and Mrs Johnson Hooper of Wichita Falls; Mrs. Wm. White, Mrs. George Bergin and Thomas Richards of this city. (Sulphur Springs Gazette, Fri. May 6, 1910)
