(ALEX) - Died at his home in Dallas following a stroke of paralysis two weeks before. He was 57 years old at the time of his death and is survived by his wife and one daughters, Miss Mary Catherine Spencer of Houston, besides four brothers, J. F. Spencer (sic), J. M. Spencer, A. B. Spencer of Sulphur Springs, and O.T. Spencer of Hempstead. He was born and lived all his early life in Hopkins County. He left there when a young man and lived many years in Kansas City before coming back to Dallas, where he continued to live till death. The remains were brought back to Sulphur Springs on the Cotton Belt and carried to the home of H. F. Spencer (sic), until funeral services were held at Myra Wilson Chapel with burial in the City Cemetery. (Daily News-Telegram, Aug. 18, 1930)
