D., MRS. - Final rites for Mrs. Stewart, 56, of Brashear, who died at McConnel Hospital in Sulphur Springs Thursday afternoon, April 1, 1948, after a shot illness, were conducted at the Brashear Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. G. C. Smith. Interment was made in the Brashear cemetery. She suffered a stroke March 27th, and her condition grew steadily worse until her death. She was born October 29, 1891, in Red River County, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John Jones, and moved to Hopkins County in 1912. Her marriage to J. D. Stewart took place at Brashear on November 17, 1917. Immediate survivors include her husband, mother, Mrs. Alice Davis, both of Brashear; a son, J .D. Stewart Jr., O'Donnell; two brothers, Hugh Davis, Levelland, and Dan Y Davis, Lamesa; and one sister, Mrs. Shack Blocker, O'Connell. Tapp Funeral Home handled arrangements.
