VICK, J. D. - Cumby, Hopkins Co., Texas - Dec. 17, 1920 - J. D. Vick died
Wednesday at his residence about two miles east of Cumby. Mr. Vick was born in
Little Rock, Ark., Mar. 20, 1860, and moved to Hopkins County about 40 years
ago. His wife was a daughter of J. W. Plunkett who was one of the early day
settlers of this section of Texas. Mr. Vick is survived by his wife and three
sons. Funeral services were held Thursday at the Pleasant Grove School house
by the Rev. Fred S. Rodgers, assisted by Revs. H. M. Cowling and D. A.
McReynolds, officiating. (Dallas Morning News, Dec. 18, 1920
