WARD, DIXIE - Died at the Long Hospital Monday afternoon, following a serious
operation on Friday before. Mrs. Dixie Williams Ward was born in New York
City, September 24, 1889, and therefore was near her 44th birthday. She was
the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Will Williams and the niece of the late Mrs. W. A.
Buford of this city. She was married to Irvin Kirkpatrick, who died many years
ago. One child, Frances Kirkpatrick, surviving. She was later married to Carl
Ward who, together with two children, Mary Ruth and Billie Ward, survive.
Services were held at the Myra Wilson Chapel with Rev. W. M. Batton of the
First Christian Church in charge. Interment followed in the City Cemetery.
