Mahaffey received a funeral notice Saturday of the death of Stephen Williams which occurred at San Angelo Wednesday The remains were shipped to this county for burial at Mt. Zion. He was born and reared in this county and lived near Ridgeway until about ten years ago when he moved west. He had been afflicted with lung trouble for some time and went to San Angelo seeking relief. (S.S. Gazette, Fri., Dec. 17, 1915)
