Poor of Saltillo was here Monday and reported the death of his father-in-law, Capt. R. J. Wright, who died on Sept. 29, 1920, at his home in Evans Point neighborhood at the age of 87. The remains were buried at Old Saltillo, conducted by Revs. Tucker and Preston of Mt. Vernon of the Methodist Church of which the deceased had been a member for 72 years. He was born in North Alabama and came to Hopkins County in 1881. He served his country as a Confederate soldier in Alabama Regiment, having rose to Captain for gallant service. He is survived by his wife, one son, Tom Wright of Mt. Pleasant, and two daughters, Mrs. Umbarger of Greenville, and Mrs. Lizzie Cooper of Paris. (Hopkins Co. Echo)
