County of Hopkins

To any Judge of the District and Chief Justice of the County Court (illegible) 
Ministers of the Gospel or Justice of the Peace in and for the County of 
Hopkins: Greeting you are hereby authorized to celebrate the rights of 
Matrimony between L.P. Pearce and Grissilda Hays or make else return to the 
Clerk of (illegible) Court fifty day (illegible) certifying your criteria 
under this license.

Witness my hand as clerk and the seal of the County Court, hereon (illegible)
at Tarrant, April 2, 1857.

I hereby certify that the above license was duly executed  on the evening of

Additional Comments:
Grissilda was apparently married a short period of time to a Hays. She used 
the name of Hays on the marriage license instead of her maiden name of 
VanSickle
