Ricker, 73 Big Spring Dec 10 1932 Funeral service was held here today for W.A. Ricker, 73, a rancher in Reagan and Howard Counties for 25 years. He died early Friday after a long illness. Survivors are his wife; a son, Rupert P. Ricker, San Angelo and a daughter, Mrs. Barney Whisenant, Laredo. Rev. J.H. Spann of Big Sprig and Rev. Grady Timmons of San Angelo officiated. NOTE: William August Ricker married Elmira Vanilla "Nellie" Hall on Oct 1, 1888 probably in Navarro Co. She was the daughter of Aralza and Nancy Ellen Grimes Hall and granddaughter of Frederick Miller Grimes I and Elmira Susan Farley Grimes of Coryell Co, TX. The family had moved from Corsicana around 1907 to Reagan and Howard Counties. The cause of his death was throat cancer. Mrs. Ricker died Dec 2, 1950 and is buried in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Big Spring, so I assume that her husband, W.A. is also buried there.
