George Stephens in 1929 that he requested the prayer meeting groups to be organized into a Bible Study club. Mrs. A. R. Nash, who was the leader of this particular group immediately formed the Stephens Bible Club and became the first teacher. It was through her inspiration that the club has met regularly for fifteen years. The Bible has been studied analytically and systematically and also used Miss Saxe' outline, the Moody Bible Course and now completing a six year course "Through the Bible Study." The club has a membership of 25 and meet each Thursday in the homes of members. There has been a splendid corps of officers and teachers who have faithfully performed their duties in keeping up the interest and enthusiam of the club. At the passing of Mrs. Nash, the name of the club was changed to the Stephens- Nash Bible Club in her honor. Teachers of the club included: Mrs. A.R. Nash, Mrs. J.E. Wilkins, Mrs. J.F. Ball, Mrs. T.J. Rhea, Mrs. Leon Bethell, Mrs. C.L. Ford. The presidents who have served are Mrs. J.F. Ball, Mrs. T. J. O'Neal, Mrs. J.E. Wilkins, Mrs. E.L. Stivers, Mrs. Chas. Stephens, Mrs. J.B. Curtis, Mrs. B.F. Lowrie, Mrs. H.O. Norwood, Mrs. E.E. Shiels, Mrs. J.L. Bennett, Mrs. J.M. Clark, Mrs. T.J. Rhea, Mrs. C.L. Ford, Mrs. R.L. Dodd and Mrs. Raymond Bradley. It has always been the policy of the club to cooperate and promote civic and social welfare carrying out the Masters teachings, "To go about doing good." Contributions have been made to the nursery school, the Red Cross in all branches. One member, Mrs. E.H. Lovelace has knitted more than fifty garments. Members have worked in the surgical dressings rooms, quilted 24 hospital quilts, and nine baby quilts, two heavy comforts and made a number of garments and also filled twelve soldier kits. Each year at Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets of good cheer have been distributed. Two social meetings are held each year, one on the club birthday and at Christmas time.
