The new pastorium was constructed by George Hackney. Plans and specifications were drawn up by the building committee, Mrs. W. W. McMichael, Calvin Stapleton, Ellis Sumrow, Lee McCorstin, Doug Armstrong, and the pastor, Rev. H. B. Gideon. The home was designed to meet the needs of the future as well as the present. It consists of a spacious living room, three bedrooms, two baths, kitchen, drive-in garage, and the pastor's study. Open House is being planned for the afternoon of May 29, and the public is invited to come and seethe new parsonage. (May 20, 1960, The Celeste Courier) (Before moving into the new parsonage, the Gideons lived at the NE corner of Sanger and South Eighth Street where the Hortons live today. The new parsonage in 1960 was the house next to where Jo Willa Pierson lives today on the east side of South Fourth Street, I think. Last preacher/family to live there was the Ralsons.)
