All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** Circle Honors Mrs. Webster Grace Bagby Circle of Washington Street Baptist Church met with Mrs. T. S. Mitchell on Walnut Street on Monday afternoon in a social session. The house was called to order by the chairman, Mrs. G. W. Wallace. Song---"Jesus Loves Her" in honor of Mrs. Webster's 82nd birthday, which we were celebrating was sung. A splendid talk was made by the president of the WMU, Mrs. T. M. Goodnight on "Why We are Here." Mrs. Goodnight then led in prayer. Roll call was answered with quotations from Paul. Devotional was led by the pastor, Rev. J. Frank Weedon from the 2nd Book of John. A very instructive lesson was taught by Mrs. A. A. Clark on "Calling of Missionaries" and "Introducing the Gospel to the Gentiles." Mrs. N. S. Brown, chairman of the Social Committee, then took charge and several interesting games were played. Then a birthday gift of a beautiful pot plant was presented to the honored guest, Mrs. Webster. The cake with eighty-two candles on it was cut and a wish was made by each lady present. A delicious plate luncheon was served by the social chairman, Mrs. John Williams. The meeting was closed with prayer by Mrs. W. B. Reeves.
