    In 1930, Joseph W. McKee was forty-nine.  He married at twenty-two and was
born in Tennessee as were his parents.  Effie McKee was forty-four and married
at sixteen.  She and her parents were born in Texas.  They had Wilburn, 17,
and  Mary Frances, 13.  Mary L. McKee, mother, 73, widow, was also in the
home.  She and her parents were born in Tennessee.  Next door is Alvea (Alves)
McKee, 39, who was born in Texas.  His parents were from Tennessee.  He was
married at twenty-eight.  His wife, Willie, 41, was born in Texas.  Her father
was also a Texan; her mother, from Tennessee.  Their children were Dorothy A.,
10, and Peggy R., 6.

    Next door to them is John E. Williams, 36, who married at nineteen.  His
wife is Eura N., 34.  Their children are Johnnie Nell, 13; Anna B., 8; and
Norma F., 5.

    In 1910, the McKee family is in Precinct 3, Atlas Village of Lamar County,
Texas, on May 6th.  Joe is twenty-eight and has been married seven years to
Effie, 24.  They have three children, all living.  They are Lollian, 4;
Lillian, 3; and Alma 1 2/12.  Mary McKee, 53, widow, is living with one house
in between.  She has given birth to seven children, four living.  With her are
Myrtle, 22, and Alvis (Alves), 19.  Both were born in Texas.  On the census
Mother Mary McKee said that she and her father were born in Tennessee; her
mother, North Carolina.

    In 1900, Mary L. McKee, 42, born May of 1852, is a widow.  She has given
birth to seven children, four living.  On this census, she says that both
parents were born in Tennessee.  In the household with her are J. W. (Joseph),
19, born in January of 1881, in Tennessee; Bertha, 16, August 1883, Tennessee;
Myrtle, 14, May of 1896, Tennessee; and Alvis, 9, February of 1891, Texas.

    In 1880, Robert McKee, 27, and his wife, Mary McKee, 23, were living in
Madison County, Tennessee, 10th Civil District.  Robert was born in Tennessee
and said that both his parents were born in North Carolina.  Mary and her
parents were born in Tennessee.  There was a Watson Mason, 30, in Memphis,
Shelby County, Tennessee at this same time.  Could this be Mary's brother?
