All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *************************************************************** Burleson Athletics to Organize "B" Club A call meeting of the men of Burleson who had letter in Athletics before the 1924 football season was held the first of last week. preparations were made for a new organization to be known as the "B" Club. Professor T. T. Martin acted as chairman and assigned special duties to some of the old lettermen. Committee to draft Constitution and By-laws: Pliny Armour and Lacy Beckham. Initiatory Degrees: Dan Turney, Earl Alridge, and Raymond Cody. The Club will have a second meeting in the near future. It is hoped to make this one of the strongest and most active organizations in the school. Letters Awarded at Wednesday Banquet The great time reached its climax when Raymond Cody was re-elected captain of the squad for the next season. Letters were awarded to Phillips, Cameron, McVeetie, Cox, Rogers, May, Terry, Deane, Herman White, Alridge, J. C. Cody, Cross, Dobrovolny, Douglas, Houser, Crabtree, Raymond Cody, Countryman, Beckham, Hubert White, Gentry, Smith, Armour, Gibbons. "B" seconds were awarded to Northcutt, Garbett, Rutherford, Walters, Wilbanks, and E. G. Gregory. Captain Cody Will See Game From The Sideline Captain Raymond Cody, a consistent man at fullback and always ready to deliver the goods when his signal was called, was sidelined with a broken ankle. This will not permit him to be in several games, but his coming back will add to the Bruins' mettle, fight, ability, and steadfastness.
